It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey. The world is disgusting. Life is filled with pain and unfairness, and it’s likely that it will only get worse. Many of us will die alone and early with plenty of regrets. There’s no changing that.
Which is why we should all look after ourselves, as our philosophy teaches us. Satisfy our needs. Rend at the terrible flesh of reality until we can claw out some semblance of happiness, at any cost. We cannot afford to succumb to despair. Life is too short for despair; pleasure is our top priority.
But every day, we happen across people who are succumbing to their despair. And if we somehow manage to carve out some sanctuary in this terrible, horrible world, the least we can do is share it, even if it is for just a few moments.
Do not just be selfish on your own behalf. Be selfish on behalf of humanity. You have the power to judge, the power to choose who is worthy and who is not. But that power isn’t just for the sake of damnation. It is also for the sake of salvation.
You are the god that many wish existed. You have the power to strike fear in the hearts of men, and the power to show mercy to the downtrodden.
You are a god. Act like it.

In the end, you have to choose what you're going to give your energy and attention to, and how you're going to evaluate and appraise your experiences. That will largely determine how you ultimately see and experience the world, for good or ill.
In the end, the only variable you can really, truly control is you. That is what it means to choose to be your own god.
If you have the opportunity to control outside variables, and it makes sense to do so, then by all means, do so--ESPECIALLY if it will prove beneficial to yourself AND others!
And, if you've ever heard the preaching of Joyce Meyer or Joel Osteen, there's a lot of watered-down Satanic sentiment in there, in that those popular preachers put more emphasis on personal fulfillment and worldly success than traditional theologians and religious leaders. (Unfortunately, such preaching eventually leads to the Gospel of Wealth--which is basically The Secret for Christians, and is absolutely awful.
If the Christian god exists, then I certainly don't want to go to heaven.
