Many animes and people here have such awesome looking characters, all I can come up with is pretty boring designs. I wish I had the creativity for that.
But yeah, I know what you mean. I often get this same feeling. XP
Hell, tex avery even got away with animating a state fair balloon animal...

Well I've found some examples of very creative character designs, that look totally different looking and I' would never mix up for someone else's stuff.
