Lingering thoughts, move or not...

General
As my previous journal, I am still having thoughts add whether giving the US a chance. However, still indecisive...California seems like a nice place. Phoenix doesn't seem bad either. I'm primarily concerned about rent costs and job availability. Weather isn't really an issue for me. If possible, I would like to live with a roommate to share the costs.
Moving is a big decision and I haven't fully decided yet. But it is something I am really considering. If anyone can give me a description of where they live, how is the rent costs or job availability there and the possibility of having a roommate or not will be really appreciated!

I currently live in philadelphia. Rent usually costs around 300-700/person, with roommates, about 200 more without. Jobs are fairly numerous, but they're not glamorous.

And sincei live in philadelphia, depending on when you move, id likely be looking for a roommate as well.

Living in California now, born and raised actually, San Francisco/Bay Area to be precise. And depending on the area rent can range from 650 (mid-range Oakland or San Mateo) -1200 (SSF and Peninsula) and even higher for a nice single bedroom. Jobs aren't very plentiful depending on what you do, but the amenities around the area including beaches, clubs, social events and such make up for the high cost of living. I would highly recommend the area. The people are friendly, the events are amazing and everything is rather close depending on what you like to do. As for roommates, from what I hear if they weren't your friends before as with any area rooming with unknown people can be hit or miss.

Yeah, I heard California can be expensive, that's why if I do choose cali, I would definitely need a roommate. Not very fond of rooming with unknown people..but I definitely have Cali in mind.

I thought there'd be more jobs in Japan than in the US, it's not like that?

OP
you'd be surprised that its either harder or more about the same as in the US to find jobs ;w;
