The Silliest Problem Ever

I'm trying to write a one-off story that is actually happy. Of course there is a problem >_<
The story itself is pretty much one of my characters cheering up another one of my characters.
However, I keep thinking that whoever I choose is going to be seen as slightly more awesome than my other characters just because they are making someone who is absolutely miserable no longer feel miserable.
I'm not sure I really want to create a whole new character for this, but I might. I have the story planned out besides this character. I was thinking I may do The Caretaker, but she already has a son that is pretty much a part of her character. I considered my own fursona Quill, but decided I would feel weird about that because I already sort-of did a story like this with him in it. I've even considered Kyne for those of you who have read Husk.
And this is why nothing has been written. I've been scribbling out passages over the last week as I fail to choose a character for this role.
If you would like me to botch I MEAN write (one of) your character(s) in this role then I could try. It would be good practice. This character would need to be calm, patient, and kind. No herbivores, anthro herbivores don't exist in my universe (because of obvious social hierarchy issues that I don't want to focus on)(I'm also a racist bastard :V).
The character being cheered up is the anthro version of Mandy. If you want more details or to suggest one of my characters that you think would work, note me or send me a message on skype (skype name is unwisedragon if you don't want to look at my profile).
