Hm. In my case, it's kinda similar... Text-based things have a lot to do with it. Though while CoC is only a game -- you don't actually write anything and everything is coded in -- the place I was in the start (and still am) is Tapestries, a text-based people only (no bots) RP environment. Adult, too, but I didn't care much whether it is.

Another thing is... I am a shaman, and this -- my one-time icon here -- http://d.facdn.net/art/m-ree/avatars/norilsk.gif -- is the coat of arms of the city where I grew up.

My fursona and me are not really different, it IS me. That's why I always use the weird 1st person form when speaking of my shapes -- "me bear", for example. People usually think I mean "my bear" :) Nope.

I was wondering about the "me" thing! Heh, it's awesome you have one so personal! I will have to take that kind of thing into account :P

Well for me, I picked my favorite animals and then kinda took them for test rides in Anthro forms in my head. Putting them in different situations and getting a feel for them. Thats how I got their colors, looks and personalities for mine.
