Superbowl Weekend Matchup
General
4 weeks of preseason games, 17 weeks of regular season games, and 3 weeks of playoffs have led the 2013/2014 season to where it is now: a matchup of seemingly epic proportions between the NFC's #1 Seattle Seahawks and the AFC's #1 Denver Broncos set to do battle at Superbowl XLVIII in "NY/NJ"
Seattle has held their ground all year and have allowed the fewest yards against and the fewest points against, they'll be put to the test as they will try to halt the high-flying offense Denver has to offer which, unlike Seattle, put up the most points and most yards this season (not to mention countless records broken by Manning and the team)
The Madden camp has already done their annual video game prediction which had the Broncos winning by 3 in OT (31-28) and they have a pretty good track record since they began this prediction method in 2004 (7-2).
Weather for the big game has been a huge topic of discussion since MetLife stadium is open to the elements and is the furthest north a Superbowl has ever been played.
Will cold weather play a factor? Will a key injury turn the tables? Will aliens use our distraction to their advantage and take over the world? We'll find out on Sunday!
While the turmoil of the NFL season is set to come to a close the NFL Furs group has its own Superbowl showdown between the last two standing Prediction Challenge participants Brute-force and Paskhowl!
Standard rules apply, you two so predict away! You have until SB:XLVIII kickoff.
Sunday February 2nd
Seahawks (15-3) "@" Broncos (15-3)
-Some out there might forget that the Seahawks used to be in the AFC West with the Broncos so they have a decent history with each other but they have only had one playoff meeting and that was back in 1983. In recent years Denver have only faced Seattle in preseason games so it's safe to say there's really no recent matchup history to talk about. #1 defense vs. #1 offense. Let's go!
