my main compy just blew up for no appernt reason.
im on a machine right now that is about 5 years old (maybe more) typing this
i cant get it to run SL or the SLim programs the video card is too old
and i cant let anybody there know what happend directly
maybe some of my inworld friends will help me out and let badwolf barbosa know my machine craped tonight around 1:30 my time. and thats why i left every thing all fucked up at wolfmont. i was djin when it poped.
dont think it was a SL thing that caused this but my roomate dana is prolly gonna blame SL....
i have a feeling from the way the compys acting that its ded. no start not nuttin all i can really hope for is the data on the hardrive is intact.
or at least most of it.

just a flash green light instead of steady on.
then when i tryed to restart it made a runnup noise one second or less and ... nuthin
just back to the flashy green light... the only other time i seen a compy act like this it was a motherboard fry thing.
basicly if its not somthing simple i will be out of sl for a little while. (incometax return maybe....) as this compys enough for my ladys useage *check email look at webocomics ect... but sl wont even start up on it...
frustrated. i was just getting lined up to do things right...
So basically everytime you try to power it back on it just doesn't? No Beeps? (those Beeps can totally tell you what's fried or not)
It just seems to try and start up and then gives up in a second?
Also which green light is flashing?
Try to explain what happens when you try too boot up as detailed as you can.
thats whats happening so.. ya.
at this point the owner of the compy is ready to retire it. and does not (annoyingly) want me fucking around with it *atleast untill we secure our music thats on this harddrive.... 24 gigs of it...
althou any assistance is apprecitated.
we had a fdisk style recovery about a month ago and the computer locked every time we tried to install win xp at the same point in the install process.
as a last resort we tryed to install win 2000 and supriseingly that did not hang. this leads me to think maybe there was something happening with the motherboard that was going to cause this failure eventually regardless.... and if im right then im not down with a rebuild from motherboard... *sigh.
