I honestly can't listen to that album, knowing that it's Metallica. They are capable of so much better and it sounded to me like the whole album was them writing just for the purpose to write and, like St. Anger, make the songs as long and repetitive as possible. I can only say that if that album was made by some other band, I wouldn't be able to stand it. I have listened to it the whole way through, though. It took me over a week, because I cuoldn't stomach more than a song and a half at a time.

The only reason I can't listen to them that much anymore is because of how awful James sounds, but I found the music itself from the album a breath of fresh air (horrible sound production aside (LARS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN CHARGE OF THAT))

lol Lars shouldn't in charge of anything past....well, he shouldn't really be in charge of anything at all, should he? lol I actually struggled to think of something there. lmao James does sound better than he did on St. Anger, though, I will give him that. St. Anger was one long-ass screech with a badly tuned snare with the chains off and no solos because Bob Rock and Lars are dicks. At least he's not screeching and going out of key much on this album. He's doing a more...howling in pain kinda thing. lol

And the solos! They're so sloppy! They're sloppy and pretty much made up of bits and pieces of the solos from Kill 'em All and Ride the Lightning! Please tell me that you noticed that. lol

LARS SHOULD BE IN CHARGE OF... Okay you're right, Lars shouldn't even be in charge of the drums.

I guess I'm just trying to say that it is an improvement on every respect over St. Anger.

It's the least awesome of their thrash albums (st. anger doesn't count), but it's the best they've made in over almost 20 years. :X

AND LOL NO I didn't notice the solos were like other solos!

Then again, sometimes it's hard to tell with KIRK BEING CONSTANTLY ADDICTED TO HIS BLOODY WAH GODDAMNIT

Oh, god that damned wah...I have a wah and only use it for parts of solos that really need it. I used it too much on my first album and Everytime I listen to those songs I'm kicking myself for using it so much. Well, in my defense, I wrote that album years before metallica really went down the suck hole. lol If you want to check it out, I've got two music accounts online. But seriously, listen to the solo from 'The Day That Never Comes' and you'll hear Fade To Black, One and Whiplash. I think the verse melody that James sings is almost identical to a Stone Temple Pilotssong, too. I can't remember what it's called, but he says something about hands and how they like to steal or something like that. lol

The Day that Never Comes is the worst song on the album D:

Not just for the solo, but the heavy part, as you seem to have already said, is a complete ripoff of One's heavy part!

Also, because you linked me to the myspace, I suddenly remembered talking to you on the FA forums, lol. If I remember correctly, I told you to 'obtain' Acoustica mixcraft, to get rid of MIDI drums, did you ever check it out?

Oh yeah! I remember you now! :D I tried getting Acoustica, but it was....really.....complicated compared to what I'm used to. I did, however, find a MIDI to MP3 converter that makes the drums sound relatively real. For my birthday, one of my roommates is getting me EZDrummer, Drum Kit From Hell, though, so all will be cool. I actually found out that...was it Meshuggah? I think so, but anyways, they actually used DKFH for all of the drums on their newest album because they didn't have a drummer. lol I've listened to some of their newest stuff and you honestly can't tell that It's not someone actually playing. lol I'm about to upload something from that converter Ifound, though, so I'll get you a link to it and you can give a yea or nay. ;P

I mean acoustica works well, and gives good sounds (what I do is make the drums from GP5, and import them into Mixcraft) but I need something... MOREEE

They had a drummer. And Thomas Hakke ( the drummer for MEshuggah) is the one who did most of the drum tones for the DFH. THe reason they used the program was to save time one re mastering the Nothing album....Carry on your conversation.
