I had minor surgery yesterday, and all is well, but this journal is based on what happened today.
So with my bad foot, I did not go to school today.
Instead, I went to an estate sale with my father.
I was looking through books, something I love to do there.
Some nice books from the 1900s-1930s as well as new, lamer books.
A few history books from that time, a compilation of short stories, some poetry, etc.
Then as we left, I was looking through another stack of books.
It was a book with a book cover on it.
Ought to be good, right?
I open it to a random page to see the language (the book was not marked except for a label with numbers on it)
Bars of music, and German. Not spectacularly unusual, but still interesting.
So i go up to the front of the book to see the publishing/printing date. 1934
Okay.
So I take off the book covers, and what do I see but a bird holding a key.
What's the key engraved with?
A swastika.
A bit more research, and:
