Holding myself back

Man. I hate digital art I realized. Not to say I HATE digital art -peices-. That would be absurd. They are beautiful and can very well do a lot of what traditional can. Digital meduims are simply a very round about way of rendering and therein lies the problem for me. When I work in digital, it always feels like I'm 2-3 steps away from attaining what I want. I feel hampered, like someone's putting a veil between me and my art. and I hate it. I'm one to experiment but I expect results when I experiment and digital just plain feels like it's mocking me! When I paint traditionally, my work looks leagues above what I post here and I'm continually sad that that is the case. :/
But I guess that's my own fault, I don't draw enough with digital for me to get used to its drawbacks. Phooey. Gunna try to finish gem's thing today, I haven't because the way I chose to color and shade drives me bonkers and is something I will NOT be doing again. D:

Still, its worth trudging through the wall you face with digital works - once you get past the wall - you'll find the two mediums of traditional and digital can coincide well together and you won't feel like you have to fight so much with computer stuffs.
...though, I should talk...I still feel my work greatly lacks a lot of character and technical issues via digital than my traditional pieces. So...guess I haven't hit the digital/traditional nirvana yet.....but its out there! I KNOW it!! >.>;;;
