The Dark Hidden Past of Underworld

We all know Underworld, right? When Born Slippy hit the college radio circuit, we'd never quite heard anything like it. And those of you into futuristic racers on the PSX will no doubt remember Tin There. Or the strange bittersweet of Jumbo. And of course, my personal favorite, Pearl's Girl.
But that's the post 1990's Underworld.
See, on Sire Sampler Vol. 3 (Just Say Mao!) there's a track that's straight-up 80's synth. Thrash by... Underworld? Nah, it couldn't be, right? I mean... it's... like... cheesy synthpop!
It would take me years to finally find the connection, but yes, it is the same Underworld! In the 80's, they had quite a different sound. They released two albums, Underneath The Radar and Change The Weather. And I gotta say, the title track from Change The Weather is pretty damn catchy! I could definitely groove to more of this!
I guess you never know what you might find in a group's past before they make that big break into the public consciousness.

Yeah, I was disappointed when I found much of their stuff did not match their track on the Hackers soundtrack.
