too bad they will never go pay to play, i am against having to pay for a game youve already bought. swtor did it reasonably well and just made it pay to unlock all the features, in their case i can still play the game after my sub runs out and not really miss out on anything too important.

Only the good mmo's are pay to play, only the mmo's that failed on launch are free to play. I'm more upset about the fact that they locked out a race just to add into the imperial expansion and peeps have to pay an aditional $30 to get them. (penny pinching)

if you can name a pay to play mmo that is actually worth the $15 a month plus whatever it costs for the game itself id be surprised; swtor is kinda a grey area, im fine subscribing to it mostly because the game itself is free and subscribers do get a small allowance of shop cash as a bonus each month. if ESO went free to play (maybe with a subscription like in swtor) id be subscribing in a heartbeat, but if i buy a game, i refuse to keep paying for the right to play it.

Their pay to play because unlike a game you buy over the counter as a once off sale,. it doesnst need to be patched, and updated each month,
in addition does not contain expansions, also does not have to be maintains by a crew of dev's.

Servers need maintenance unlike a stand alone game. Bugs are left unfixed in stand alone games, as where on mmo's they get repaired by the people and who works for free?
Im happy to pay for a game with 1 month sub on it and them pay a subscription, for an ever expanding game and for for the following months. What I dislike is that alllll the other TES games have been all inclusive races ... until now... its become penny pinching like blizzard became over time.

On the other hand, Star citizen will be a 1 off sale plus a subscription fee however all updates and expansions and in game content will be available for all to gain, it wont be a pay to win game like wow or eve online

Star citizen isnt being made by a large coperation as TES and WoW and EvE where, its a total crowd funded game and the guy pulling the strings i must tip my hat to a Mr 'Chris Roberts'
