Is it going to be as bad as the apparent general consensus has been online (even with Forbes weighing in)?
I'm trying to be somewhat neutral on this, but I'll have a solid answer once I downloaded it and play-tested it for free as Beta.
What do you all think about it?

Cuz from what I'm deriving from that comment is that ESO is gonna be like Guild Wars 2 with some plastic surgery.
If Bethesda manages to take what it learns from Beta and defies what is expected from the critics in what they view about ESO, then yeah it'll be worth the investment
If not...well sadly even fetish possibilities with it won't make me stay with it
sorry i get a little annoyed with how much hype this game has when there are cheaper and better alternatives for MMO's.
I've played 3 MMOs in my life, Old Republic (Fell out of that after a free trial period when it was subscription and even more after it went f2p), Aion, and this [ESO]...
Out of those, Aion holds better cuz I don't feel like I'm being reluctantly forced to explore the realm of Tamriel just to find quests all the while grinding to death -_-;;;
Yeah, I think this game was too hyped up. Like I mentioned in my last comment, I think Aion is probably one of hte only few decent MMOs out there.
I mean c'mon, WoW has Po's Cousins added in (Not to mention the incessant grinding), Old Republic has severely limited access unless you pay a monthly fee, ESO has a completely unfriendly user interface.
Aion has everything (practically) except for uber premium features that you pay for only once to get for one character...and no (to clarify) these features won't give you any form of advantage when it comes to PvP.
