Game Update 1

I'mma write these to hopefully keep myself motivated. If they're annoying, feel free to tell me!
So! Progress report! Basic physics integrated. Gravity, being able to walk on surfaces without... rocketing into the sky... (actually happened once... maybe twice).
Currently the main character is a circle and all the platforms are hideous blue blocks! Great start! I can just feel the backstory!
I'm currently trying to decide on a jump style. The obvious choice is a button devoted to jumping, but another style involves letting the character jump automatically when moving at a certain speed off a platform, sorta like Zelda. I could also prevent the character from walking off the platform entirely, sorta like Resident Evil where you have to press a button to do a sort of canned jump animation. Currently messing around with each. They all seem to work well for different things.
So next step is to start spriting! The best and worst part. :D

What about platforms above your that have solid ground beneath them? Or would you just not have those at all?
