Commission Rates:
1. Character Paintings
- Full body, detailed character paintings
- Starts at $50
- Add a complex background for +$30 to +$70
- Simple backgrounds are free of charge
- Note me with refs and a description for an exact quote
2. Pokemon Commissions
- Most Pokemon are $20 each
- Complex Pokemon (ie: Reshiram or Zekrom) are $40 each
- Add a complex background for +$30 to +$70
- Simple backgrounds are free of charge
- Note me with refs and a description for an exact quote
Instructions & Process Info:
1. Reply to this journal or send me a note with ref(s) and/or a description of what you'd like for an exact quote. If there's a specific style from my gallery you'd like me to paint in, include the link(s) with your message.
2. I'll reply to your message with an exact quote. If you confirm the quote works for you, I will book you a slot. I will send you a note with payment info when it is your turn.
3. Payment can be made 1/2 at the start at 1/2 at the finish, or all upfront. I start work as soon as I receive the first payment.
4. I will send you a colored sketch for you to approve and/or ask for changes before I begin the painting process. I can send additional WIP's after that at your request.
5. Turnover from the time you send your payment to the final painting is a few days/under a week, unless it includes a complex background, in which case the estimated turnover time is under 2 weeks. I will automatically send you updates every two or three days for this kind of complex commission, and you can request minor changes at each WIP stage.
Additional Info & Terms:
- Payment is through Paypal. All prices are in usd.
- All commissions stated above are private commissions. For commercial commissions, please note me for the rates.
- Clients are not allowed to resell the artwork.
- High-resolution jpg and web-sized jpg will be sent to you by default.
- Other formats are available upon request (ie: png)

Though honestly, I think it should work both ways.
Artists SHOULD get a percentage/additional compensation when their work is used commercially...but people who commission an artist, where that artist then goes on to use that commission as part of an art CD/download pack, should get a percentage of the gross (after-expenses) profit from the art pack/CD sales as credit towards future commissions. (e.g. let's say there's 100 pics on an art CD, ten of them were commissions from one person, if each CD sold, after expenses, nets $10, then $1 for each CD should should be given as a credit to that commissioner.)
A private commission is a client paying for the artist's time spent working on a piece of art to their liking, whether it is their character, a character from their favorite show, or even RL people. Any characters drawn by the artist retain ownership with the character's owner - ie: if I draw someone's oc, they retain copyright over their character, but I retain rights to that specific image itself that I have drawn. The client is free to do as they wish with their image as long as it is used non-commercially/they are not using it for-profit.
Usually when rights - especially exclusive and commercial rights - are needed by the client (meaning they need to use the image commercially/for-profit), the artist charges either an additional fee or charges for royalties per sale. This is standard practice for digital artists.
