This was really cool. I've found that there's a lot of really good animation from Russian which is generally overlooked. The "I'll get you!" series (wolf after a young rabbit) is a good one, as well as a really nice, charming Winnie the Pooh series which is well worth watching. Hadn't seen this one. A whole bunch of this stuff is on YouTube, posted, presumably, by nostalgic Russians. There've also been some great animated feature films in the past 5-6 years, which I've managed to watch (occasionally at the cost of really bad subtitles). My favourite is Кня́зь Влади́мир, Knyaz Vladimir (Prince Vladimir), a fairly serious drama with occasional Disney-esque light moments, and some gorgeous animation. It takes great liberties with its historical subject, but the visual portrait of 10th-century Russia is breathtaking.

Of course, you might be less easily impressed XD

I've found a lot of animation stuff from other countries that's overlooked, too often overlooked to be really wonderful. There's some little known Japanese stuff that's pretty cool, too such as, "The Little Prince and the Eight Headed Dragon" which the folks at Disney used as HEAVY influence for the battle of Hercules and the hydra. Some of the Russian stuff I've seen is really well done, charming and easily as good a the western shorts of the same time period. There's an ap I downloaded on my iPad that is nothing but a viewer and links to Russian cartoons.

That was a nice animation! Disney had nothing on them. :)
