Yeah, I'm sad that Capcom canned Mega Man too, but it seems like people are moving on. Inafune left the company over it and is starting his own Mega Man knockoff that promises to be pretty good, so maybe we'll have a new "classic" series to follow in the blue bomber's footsteps.
