Personally I don't buy the comics/art collections that artists sell due to the fact that it doesn't really catch my interest. It could have my top kinks in it, but I would see it, and then just be on my way. It's not just your stuff, it's with the stuff of many artists (No offence meant to anyone)

Are there any kind of quick sketch type things that you can do? Those seem to be pretty popular whenever an artist offers them on a submission advertising it, or a journal. I know personally I'd be interested in getting a few sketches if you ever did that


Also if you do do any more of those comics or art collections/ect, make sure you make it to where you don't send it out until you reach X amount, cause the moment some people get ahold of it, they'll post it to sites like u18chan, e621, barachan, stuff like that.

My comics are posted in u18chan with few useful advices and more of "This artist is awful!"

Nah it's fine. There are those (like me) who simply don't buy art any more (partially because I can barely afford it and partially because I simply don't need it), and according to other commenters, it seems like they WOULD buy it if Mark didn't take years to do their commissions. I'm not blaming the guy; I'm sure he's super busy, but to take 5-6 years seems a little ridiculous unless you're painting some form of masterpiece that deserves museum status (with no offense to Mark, btw; his stuff is great)

There is a fine difference between 'busy' and 'having your priorities straightened out', just saying.

And I think patience is allowed to wear off after a year of not doing art.

If I was brutally honest I'd have to say the comic doesn't reach from what you've done in the past. I loved you art for a long time now and bought some comics from rabbit valley a year or two ago, but I don't see how this art is any different from your other works. This goes for your comics anyway. There isn't much story to go with the porn you do and the writing on the comics are kind of cliche, characters are only put in a situation to set up for a sex scene.

On the flip side some good things you do is varying up what goes into a sex scene and characters. While you do have tropes like father/son, and big guys you often do other things beside this.

So all I can suggest is get help on the writing, don't let people stop you from doing new ideas, and make characters more realistic.

To be honest, this is something I've always pondered about. I've tried in the past to do comics that are more than just random sex. But sadly they either never saw the light of day, or they weren't a hit. Or simply I was suggested to change them into something more simpler. Fun fact about legacy: It was suposed to be a darker story with a thicker plot, but my editor tought it was a little too dark, because it had murder and violence, and a really bad guy, not just a dude to defeat in bed :p

Sadly, there aren't many people who actually care about a porn comic with story. When I try to release something with story, it just goes unapreciated. Like, When I did that little comic about small stories about stuff that happened to me in life, I bet nobody even remembers that. Or when I released UC: heartless. Nobody even knows what that is. And they're all there. But since they're not just mainly big incestous bears with huge uncut dicks, they just go unnoticed...

You are not the first person to tell me about how my comics have become just mindless fuckfests. I do wish to retake, and try to do something with deeper plot some day.

Not to be rude but dude its only been 2 days since you posted it, there might be people who haven't even seen that your selling a comic and other people, such as myself, haven't gotten our paycheck yet and don't want to spend $5 until we have more money, you need to give it time and if you need cash that badly well I'm sorry I don't really know what to tell you. However I think your making a lot of people mad and upset with not only the issues updating your website but also by keeping their commissions on hold for whatever reason and then drawing a short comic for a bit of cash. I understand you need money however unless you can finish the commissions people have possibly already paid for/waiting on I don't think your going to have a lot of people waiting to buy something you just rushed out with no warning. Short answer is post more journals updating us on what is going on the only time I ever seem to see anything new from you is when your in desperate need of money. Again I'm not trying to be mean or hurt you just being honest, i love you art and will hopefully look into getting this comic next week when I'm paid, hope everything works out for you in the end.

This is all stuff I know. Every time shit hits the fan down here and that I'm cornered into having to ask for help, or having to seek a desperate way to get money, I know I'm just gonna get people mad. Most of the time I don't even get what I needed, and I just end up invoking everyone's hatred towards me.
This is all on me, I know. And I will have to bear it until I can finally finish all that I owe. There's always gonna be people who doesn't really care about reasons because after a few, reasons seem absurd, but I've not forgotten that I owe art to people, and I do intend to finish every one that I owe.
At this point, I don't expect sympathy or anything from anyone, and I just accept that I'm disliked by many people and no matter what I do, that will remain.

Because you shouldn't be working on comics like this. You should be working on the art that is owed. Like the comic with Hasani and me into it that we have been waiting for over 5 years for.

I do wish you luck on this though, but it seems like you have some really PO'd customers above who have been waiting YEARS for commissions. IMO that will definitely hurt your sales, especially if they make journals like "DO NOT COMMISSION THIS ARTIST".

I'm sorry to have to join in like this, but I was originally going to buy your comic after seeing your situation. But after looking at some of the comments of commissioners claiming to be waiting 5+ years for their commissions. That's just completely unacceptable. I can understand a year, or two at most. But over five is ridiculous. It makes people, including myself to believe that you aren't a trustworthy artist who would just run off with people's money without giving anything in return. If you truly want suggestions and would really want to know what would I (and I assume many others) want to see to make us buy your comics.......it would be an explanation, an apology, and a finished backlog so we could gain your trust back. Otherwise you forever lost an interested customer wanting to do business with you.

Kind of curious of the reason this is not selling, you are a great artist and very well known.

I'm agree with Lokven and I fail also in the lack of story for catch readers.
You art improved a lot since the first time I saw your art in Y!G long time ago and I guess it's time to check what kind of plot you can add in the comic for make it interesting.
For comment you: I did some non-mature for all readers comic series but few people get interested in it on this site but in the local comic group haves a little spotlight XD
Some people adviced me in look what is the main target of my comic. Is also an usual problem in doing comics, know what people want to see.

Honestly? Everyone of your comics has been kind of boring, or incredibly awkward to follow. From everyone turning to demons, or some other crazy stuff, I just don't have the interest in them anymore.

I gotta say man. I like your style, but not your work.

Let me break that down. You have talent- there is no denying that. and I like the themes of your stories. but you have an inability to finish things once started that rivals my own, and while I may get nagged by my brother now and again - you have clients waiting for you to deliver on promises that you have paid them for. You have subscribers that you don't take care of and you don't stretch your imagination when it comes to doing new things.

I myself have been waiting on a commission from you for a while - not that I ever have a hope of getting it completed. - but you are like so many other artists out there that take money with no guarantee of delivery. If you are doing this as a business, your business model is poor.

Now I understand that situations arise in every life. Hell you are not the only artist that I have had this issue with. but reputations get around and when you ignore people and then decide to make another cash grab, thus burning your patrons, you erode your fan base and make your good name mud.

You want to make more money? Change your ways. Redouble your efforts and have a good work ethic. Apologize tho those people you have burned and make it right. Produce quality work. also Get a beta reader and someone to do your English dialogue so that it seems more fluid and not like you copied it out of babelfish or google translate. Give people time to understand that the old you and the new you are different people and you repent for the transgressions of the past.

Even though i have been disappointed, i still have faith in you.

bottom line, make it right.

If you have a story to tell, tell it. If you just want to draw sex, then do that. Taking a bunch of drawings of sex and putting them in sequence without a good story isn't adding anything. (and "I saw your porn, let's have sex" is definitely not a story, it's just porn dialogue)

It's always been my opinion that aiming for what people want is a poor place to aim because it makes you dishonest. Aiming for the bank is the same thing. The only way to create content and have people eat it up, is for you to create it passionately, from a place that is creatively honest, with love and attention and fervor. I already know you made this comic for a very specific person - if that person is satisfied, then really what more can you expect? Nobody wants to pay to see someone else's gift.

I think some already hit the point home. But I'll pitch in my two cents. You're a great artist, tbh your works is one of the few that turned me onto bears,chubby furs and chubs in general. But it's just that your writing and stories are so incomprehensible that I have no idea where the plot goes to. Reading a few of your works, (especially the Legacy Series and Kuma Senshi no Bokki) I have no idea what's going on, or why the plot happens, just mindless sex scenes. Doing porn without plot is not really a bad thing, but it depends on how you do it. It seems from what others are saying, is you're doing what you think pleases your audience rather than yourself. So what if your works that had an actual story failed to attract? Try again! How can you please others, if you don't know how to please yourself?

Not to mention you leave comic commissions unfinished for a long time.

In terms of auctioning off the original pages as one big collection, since they don't include the lettering/dialogue, maybe throwing in a good quality printed version of it in with it or even an electronic copy that has the dialogue would complete the package.

In terms of the comic selling in general in its electronic/printed form, as nice as it is, it's short and feels like maybe it could be part of a bigger thing. Nothing is going to stop ME from buying it no matter what (sorry guys I'm a MarkWulfgar groupie to the end), but more people might buy it if it was packaged in with a larger collection of material - maybe something specifically Christmas themed.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm thrilled beyond words that you're drawing again.

Maybe this comic's legacy is that it's the first stage of the great Mark Wulfgar comeback

Another thing I wanted to add is that I've seen a lot of artists do very well financially by creating comics that focus on story first and on erotica second.

I've read some very touching, deeply affecting furry comics that didn't include any adult content at all. Maybe some kind of collaboration with a good writer is something you could look into in the future. As much as I hate making comparisons between artists, I'm thinking specifically of artdecade. He's done some really deep, evocative stuff. It's subtle and simple, but very deep and easy to relate to.

Your characters are so expressive that in combination with quality writing, you could create something beyond anything seen in this genre before.
