We have net again

Apparently it was the modem.
From what it looks like, comcast upgraded their network to DOCSIS 2.0 to DOCSIS 3.0 this past week and didn't tell anyone. The old modem was choking on it hardcore and finally killed itself this weekend. We went out and bought a new Motorola SURFboard SB6121 cable modem and now we're getting faster speeds than we ever have. Sooooo... I guess we'll see if this sticks or not.

FA+

They did upgrades on a line which we pay $90+ a month for because we told them we needed the speed and the reliability. I'm a web developer and I host my own websites from home. I also have to do work for others. They made a change to our service without notifying us stripping our service to nothing. That modem was leased. What they SHOULD have done was send us one BEFORE they did the upgrades. I shouldn't have to call them to get my service working again. know what I mean?
How old was that modem because it not uncommon for cable and DSL modems which run most often 24 7 365 to fail after say 3 years, and on your past journal about this if I thought more I would have also suggest the modem or router being the problem?
So pretty much I think it a coincidence the modem went bad when DOCSIS 2.0 to DOCSIS 3.0 process happened.
Look at this comcast outage map: http://downdetector.com/status/comcast-xfinity/map
Comcast fucked something up, big time. I don't know how or why, but they did.
