The difference of habits between Japan and the United States

I didn't know that Americans don't hang laundry out to dry.
They almost use a drying machine.
I was surprised to it!
I also have it but I don't use very often.
I use it only when it rains.

but here in the US, people have pretty much nowhere to put them out or they need to rush it, so dryers are the only option
We even have a clothesline, but it's winter, so we've been using the dryer this whole time.
Some things, however, need to machine dried or the fabric stays lose and it "grows": I have two pairs of pants that grow two inches if they are not machine dried.
It is all dependent on where you are, and what you wear!
