I've enjoyed a wonderful week and a half with Biskits, only to go to the vet today to find out he has two tumors on his chest that need to be removed. :C

honestly that's not as bad as it could be, could have easily been a 4 digit number.

I was honestly expecting it to! And that amount includes a teeth cleaning that he needs any way so we are doing it while he's already out, pre - op blood work, catheter and IV hook ups, pain killers and the tumor testing! I thought for sure the price was gonna be in the thousands!

small miracles, I know that my vet was telling us that it would have cost a few thousand to clean out my dog's kidney's but he was very straight with me about the chances of Ash dying during the procedure. Was the main reason we opted to put him down, but at least your situation seems a bit more manageable.

Awe, sorry to hear that :[ That does sound like a good deal though, especially with an IV cath. what kind of tumors do they think? Are they little hard masses on the skin, or soft ones?

He says they could be fatty tumors, but need to be biopsied to be sure. One is round and a little firm and the other is large but flat and soft. They are right in his armpit which is one of the main reasons the vet suggests removal rather than trying for a needle sample and waiting it out. If they get any bigger they could mess with the mobility of his leg.

Good news is if they are fatty tumors they aren't that big of a deal, it's not actual "cancer" per say, they like he said just get in the way. A lot of dogs get them, my older chow mix has a couple but they're on her rib cage, so I'm not worried about them. Fingers crossed that's all that they are!
