New GameBoy game project
It's going to be a little DMG furry-themed puzzle/RPG tile-matching game in 32kB. Heavily inspired by Zoo Keeper, some RPG combat elements will be added to raise the game's interest and most importantly to allow for 2-player battles via the famous link cable :)
The project started about a week ago and already went along some distance.
The tile panel engine and intro sequences are done.
Battle animations, sound effects and 2P link code must be added.
The hardware prototypes (shells and boards) are already ordered, as manufacturing and shipping takes some time.
This means of course that some actual cartridges will be produced, and I'm posting about this project here on FA because I'd like to send some carts outside of France, this time !
Some gameplay footage and screenshots will be available in the following weeks.
I'm expecting to start taking orders at the beginning of April, the price excluding shipping will be around $25.
This is my second 32k GB project. I prefer keeping the first one aside, as it was my first try. The gameplay wasn't really up to it, the contents were quite provocative, and I had to sacrifice a bunch of Tetris carts to get their plastic shells. Nothing to be very proud of, even if it sold 80 copies ! So now, to make something better ;3

FA+

I was using a VGM to pseudo-MIDI thing but it still eats up too much space.
Having music in this game will depend on the availability of time and space only :/
The method you described will be at least twice as big, but normally much more as nothing is reused and that happens a lot in most music, especially bass and drum channels.
Anyway I still wish all the best with this project :)
Thanks :)
