Favorite movie genre and why

I like all types of film genres, but I do enjoy horror the most. Something primal about feeling terror and being shocked. There are fun kinds of horror films like Evil Dead II and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, but I like my horror movies terrifying, in fact my favorite horror movies are Alien, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Thing, Halloween. With the exception of Alien and The Thing, the best part about them is that they lack violence and rely on sheer suspense and terror, which Alien and The Thing also have but with disturbing, but appropriate violence.
