The inevitable approaches, again...

...And I am powerless to stop it's course.
Willy, my verrrrry old bunny (11-12 years) is declining fast over the past week and faster over this weekend. He can no longer control his legs, and his front paws are crippled with arthritis. All I can do is to make him and his mate comfortable, try to keep him clean with out him stressing (Though I think he's enjoying the warm baths on his sore limbs)
If he was alone I would take him to the vet and let him sleep, but his girl loves him dearly, they've been together for 5 years, that is like a 40 year marriage in bunny time. It's just sad to see a loved one decline like this, so quickly.
Growing old and feeble is tough on everyone, I suppose I will be fortunate in not having to put someone though emotional stress of my elderly care and eventual death.

Unfortunately my mantle is becoming crowded with those that have passed... And the co-workers find it strange that when I die that I wish my and my bunnies ashes to mingle.
