Some video game meme thing I've seen going around. And I don't have the tablet PC until it gets sent back from Fujitsu so... here's this in the meantime!
1) What was your FIRST video game console?
Vic 20
2) Name a few games you played on said console.
Pong... Snake... The fun thing about the Vic 20 was it was a keyboard. You could buy little books at the store and it would give you a description of a game, and you type in the code it gave you and you programmed the game in yourself. Only you had to do it... every time you wanted to play something. Unless you got the cassette recorder!
3) Excluding handhelds, how many VG consoles do you own presently?
Lemmie think.. PC, NES, SNES, Dreamcast, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox, Xbox360 and Does the virtual boy count? I don't think those massive goggles fit under the 'hand held' category. And what about my PSP? You can plug it into the TV, you know... or play PSX games off my ps3 FROM my PSP. And the PS3 has Linux with tons of emulators. DO THOSE COUNT? Man, video game consoles sure aren't what they used to be...
4) Were you a Street Fighter nut? Any character in particular?
I was... I remember I would rent Street Fighter 2 like every week for 5 months, and my dad ended up buying it at the end because it was such a waste of money - But I just looked at him and was like "Dad. I'm totally bored of that game now." I feel bad that I was a brat like that! =D
5) Do you think Capcom is a FUCKING awesome company that has had some of the more memorable character designs? Wow. This Meme seems to lean toward Capcom. I appreciate Capcoms character designs. I mean, who else could draw up such a stereo typical American Blonde guy with USA tattoos and a flat top? And hell. They designed this guy, didn't they?

6) Here's the scenario.. You had some friends over and you all ate FRIED CHICKEN! After the meal you all decide to play some video games. As your friend reaches for a controller you notice his/her hands are very "greasy." Are you the type that would insist they wash their hands before pawing the controller, or is it no big deal?
Which is it? A he or a her? If it's a he, I'd be like "You son of a bitch! I'm scared of germs!" and if it was a girl, her hands are probably greasy because she has a handful of my semen. HAH. TAKE THAT MEME. I KICKED YOUR ASS.
7) What's your favorite RPG/Action RPG? I will allow a second and third fave if you insist.
Star Ocean 2, and Seiken Densetsu 3. They meant a lot to me, back in the days when I played them, so they remain there in my heart. AW.
8) Do you prefer 2D games or 3D games?
This is more ignorant rhetoric. People always have opinions- usually assuming superiority claiming 2d is better. 2d and 3d are merely tools at this point to convey what you want to convey! Gameplay mechanics have to change entirely to accommodate which medium you decide to base your game off of. First Person Shooters like Left 4 Dead would make no sense in a 2d setting. Swarms of zombie sprites? And games like Braid in 2d have deeper meanings that couldn't have been conveyed in 3d.
9) Are you an SNK fan?
Aren't you? SNK is awesome, but they had terrible business strategies. Anyone remember Crystalis? Best NES song ever... and the game was good. Better than NES Zelda, also. Metal Slug, Rage of the Dragons, Samurai Shodown and The Last Blade.
9) Are you good at DDR?
I was okay. I got a couple free Metal Dance pads. I need to pull those out again, but they're heavy. =(

I'd like to say no... But I remember when I was graduating 8th grade, they had a big assembly at this downtown convention center, and I had JUST gotten a PS1 like the day before, and I didn't have a ride, so I said... screw it! I'll play Parasite Eve instead!

Here and there. I used to listen to it a LOT more. And I still do. Every time I play... you know. A video game with music in it.
13) Have you ever cosplayed a VG character?
No... wait. Oh yeah. Leon from Star Ocean 2 for Halloween. Back in Highschool. Blue hair and cat ears is awesome.
14) Have you ever been in an arcade playing a fighting game, KICKING ASS, and then some 6 year old asian kid comes in and OWNS YOU??

15) Name three games you would love to see remakes of if it was done properly.
Crystalis, Chrono Trigger, and any Secret of Mana game (if they could take away all the hate and crap they seem to drag the Mana games through these days, that is.) And... They just redid Star Ocean 1, on psp, and it made me HAPPY. It was like... EXACTLY the same, with the updated battle system and the SAME DIALOGUE. It was great!
16) Mario or Sonic?
I loved Sonic. He had more personality than Mario.... But the Mario games tended to be a lot more fun to play over and over.
17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
Nah, one time I bought that matrix game, they claimed it would have a parallel story to the movie, and that sounded interesting, then you get forced to try to control the game. It should never be such a chore to 'play'! But some games can be pretty good, like the spiderman game? I played it for a few minutes, they seemed to have treated it right. I wouldn't BUY it though, too much moneyz.
18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
I'd say Sports. They can be fun with friends, but how often do you guys want to lie to yourselves about enjoying that new madden game when you could really be blowing people into pieces instead?
19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love?

20) Have you ever verbally abused a game because you couldn't beat one of the levels and/or bosses?
I tend to not get overexcited, but man, did Soul Calibur 4 online really piss me off. They don't have to talk down to you when they're lagging like hell and kill you. =(

I used to work at a game store... I collected all those t-shirts and still wear them when I randomly pull them from the closet.
22) What are your thoughts on the live-action Super Mario Bros movie?

I bought some DBZ game on PS1 a long time ago from japan. Had to get a converter for my PSX. Now I feel stupid for buying ANY old games when you can just DOWNLOAD THEM so easily!
