When a guy calls you hypocrite when you delete his comment cause you follow his own logic X)
yes tonight is drama and rant time

It was petty, and an attempt to start a flamewar. Red deleted it and other comments on it to stop the drama.

I'm sorry for this...
"Teckly is trying to cause drama, so here let me try to cause drama!"
Dumbass.
Heaven forbid anyone state a simple opinion.
Man the internet is dumb sometimes.
Crying about how expensive a pic is auctioned doesn't change it. The law of supply and demand will always win. Great examples. Vincent Van Gogh didn't sell shit when he was alive, try to buy an original now. xD
Or my favorite example: apple. I was one of thouse guys that were/are enraged by the prices they want for their products. But then I understood that if people are stupid enough to buy it than let them. It's how the fucking world rolls.
The point I'm trying to make is this: Humans are stupid as fuck. Delight in the thought that at least you are aware of it. xD
Have a nice fucking day in this god forsaken bloody world.

As for Apple computers, the reason for their price has absolutely zero to do with supply vs demand. The parts they use to build their computers are the highest end components, and many of their parts are proprietary for their machines only. "Shockingly" the most powerful computer parts available are expensive because of research and development costs in addition to the production costs being very high because they have to build new assembly lines just to make them. Not to mention that electronics assembly lines pay their employees rather a lot. Hilariously, because of the price of apple products, there is actually often a slight surplus of supply for many of Apple's products within a few months after release. Not to mention demand for apple products is currently on a downward trend.
One last point: Supply and Demand doesn't apply to groups of people too small for free market competition to exist. The reason people get mad about ych auctions is because the few people that seem to have nothing better to do with their money are increasing the price of commissions far above what anyone else is willing to pay. Effectively there's no real competition, and the artists take fewer commissions because they don't have to, so nobody really gets what they want except the few people that seem to have inexhaustible funds. Not to mention that these artists have standard commission prices, but ych commissions are allowed to exceed or even triple the price of getting a custom commission. Lastly, there are a significant number of people that will bid up the price of ych commissions then refuse to pay, effectively making all the other problems worse.
It's hardly difficult to understand having something to say about the fact that these artists aren't putting a "buy it out" price. I've seen plenty that do, but the ones that don't are constantly making commissions for about the same 4 people, making it impossible to get a commission from an artist you like unless you're one of those 4 people.
...
Ergo humans are stupid as fuck. You my friend are lawyered.

Thats not the only reason; I for one, don't like YCH's simply because I think they're incredibly lame from an artistic point of view. I don't think art should ever be "templated" in any way. Then again, that's just my personal view and dignity as an artist... I can't speak for anyone but me.
As I recall, somewhere around 06, they started using x86 architecture and a lot of off-the-shelf PC components. Has this changed?
I remember thinking this was a smart move, because it will allow them to spend more time on software development and supporting products that come to market, especially in the emulation sector.
For the record, both my primary computers are PC, and one of them is a top of the line machine that cost me $2000 to build it myself.
I repaired and build PC's for 8 years; I still do so for my own personal use.
In that time, I literally had exactly two customers ever bring me a mac. All they rewarded was a hard reset; I charged them nothing.
Back in the day, I could justify a lot of apples expense by exactly that. They had custom, sometimes superior hardware in terms of quality and performance. They also had a superior marketing department, angling in on the graphic design and movie industries especially. I thought that was another smart move. But since 06, I haven't really seen anything that stands out as particularly impressive (to me) since I have all the skills needed to build comparable if not better machines. (That, and I don't care about phones.) ~ So when I hear "proprietary", I was like "oh are they doing that again?". I find computers very interesting; when I don't have to make money off them <3.
The specs are beautiful, and building a comparable machine would be an extremely ambitious project.
And if you believe that apple is not full of shit, so be it. It doesn't change the fact that they the price is high and so is the demand and that I don't want to pay that given price.
As for Supply and Demand, it ALWAYS applys. If you can't keep up with the price, you lose. It's pretty dark, I do have to say so myself, but it's nonetheless true.
I don't want to argue about that to be honest.
