Random Quote: "Some people see scars, and it is wounding they remember. To me they are proof of the fact that there is healing."

Short version: *face-palm x1000*
Long version: well thank you once again for proving that Hollywood should stay far far away from any childhood classics, the humor of this movie was either nothing but puns (made irritatingly by Peabody at the worst possible time) or jokes so damn obvious you can see them a mile away. I know its geared towards kids but dear god thats no excuse for not trying. The historical periods they traveled to are done in such a cliché or inaccurate way that it makes me want to stab ice picks into my eyes. If they wanted to do historical satire thats fine, if they wanted to be informative thats fine as well but don't try to combine the two when you cant even do either decently. The characters come off as paper thin or as obnoxious as possible and thus try to make me hate them with every fiber of my being and on top of that the time traveling mechanics are just all over the fucking place (yes i know the cartoon wasn't any better with it but it was made in the 60s you cant really expect a lesson in quantum mechanics from that era). They try to stuff in these heartfelt scenes but they don't bear any weight because the writing feels so damn stock.
If you want a good move you can take your kids to and one that adults will actually enjoy go see the Lego Movie i assure you you'll get more joy out of it than you will with this fucking garbage.
