No FWA for me. :( But, I'll be at Megacon!
Last year I was on my way home from a convention, bored because I was riding shotgun instead of driving, and figured what the heck, I'll send an e-mail about Megacon. I guess my timing was perfect, because it happened to coincide with the time frame in which people could submit applications for the Independent Press (aka "I Made It Myself") section of the vendor's room. I didn't expect to hear back, but I did, and I got in! Score!
Then, a few weeks later, I found out that FWA was going to be the same weekend. Boooooo!
Y'all know we've been to every. Single. FWA. that has occurred since its beginnings as a convention in the lowly hotel next to a graveyard just outside the Atlanta airport, lol. We've seen it grow up from a tiny weekend con with just a handful of fursuiters and a Starving Artist's Alley where people spent money on my art because they felt bad for me and my husband being the only people in the room (for serious!) to being the incredible beast that it is today. Silv and I are pretty sad to be missing out, because even though we don't really feel like we fit in with the furry fandom anymore (and this feeling started several years pre-babby, so that really didn't have anything to do with it) FWA has been the one furry con that we still made a point to go to, since all of our friends are there and it is always, always a good time.
I'll be thinking of you guys over the weekend, missing out on the company of good friends and fun times like our annual pizza party. Hopefully, next year the dates won't clash and we'll be able to hit FWA as well as Megacon. :)
Everyone have fun, be safe, and enjoy the con! Oh, and if you're going to be at Mega and not FWA, stop by my booth (#764) and say hi! :)
