Sometimes I really like being called Eric but since my name is just plain Alex and neutral I most likely won't ever change it, I also really love my actual name. I'd feel really guilty if I ever did change it.
The name Eric just feels really nice; if that makes sense.
It also flows well with the rest of my name and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when people call me it.
Still call me Alex though but Eric every once in a while is good too.
