So last night my Internet connection went down, even on the computer that's physically connected to the modem. Odd, that. Fiddling with both the modem and the wireless router didn't really accomplish much. Call up the cable company, and they can't send a guy over to look at it until Sunday. Greaaaat. I even accessed another wireless signal in the area to send an important message. (Tapping into someone else's signal is morally dark to begin with, and without the benefit of a firewall it's probably not a good idea, but as I said, it was really important.)
Then this afternoon it just inexplicably starts working again.
I don't know how stable the connection is, or how long it will stay up. Even if it lasts all night, I'm still gonna have the guy look at it on Sunday. Random connection drops are not a good thing.
So if if I fail to respond to a comment or suddenly drop out of an IM session or something, you'll know why.
Here's something more Christmas-y than my technical issues, but I would strongly advise against showing this particular holiday video to children.

Seriously, the same thing happened to me this week. Fortunately, the cable company was able to come out on the same day.
Such is life. Sorry to hear about Uncle Bob.
