I have heard the winnings for getting perfect are so high, because the chances are so low of winning that I think you are more likely to win some like the Mega Millions lottery and get stuck by lightning

And to answer the question I would risk the final games since if I end up losing I might be able to make at least a million off my story off how I gave up a chance to get a million. :D

I'd just walk away with the million. More then enough to live pretty comfortably and get a nice start up leaving school. Plus if I didn't get those last few I'd be punching myself for the rest of my life.

I'd keep going as the Final Four outcomes are much easier to predict than the early games. Once you're past the low-seed upsets (ex. 5-12), you really don't see as many surprises. Of course, this assumes a bracket based on likely outcomes.

A surprise upset will sometimes break all but those from the winning school. Many of those brackets are garbage in the end because they have that "Cinderella" school winning the championship... which is extremely unlikely. If my bracket happened to match that pattern (my alma mater is a 14 seed), then it would be smarter to take the $1mil.

The odds of getting the final four right are 1 in 8 if you count just the three games required to determine the champ. If there's a consolation game for 3rd place and you have to get that one right too, the odds become 1 in 16.

Given the stupidly long odds you'd need to beat to get a perfect bracket up to the Final Four I'd take the money. It strikes me as the safe option.

The good that could be done with a million would be temping, however I could not risk a million dollars has it would be far too useful.

I'd let it ride then sell it to a Vegas bookie for 10 million and let him take the risk on shorting it ;)

There was this question you asked me before about the lottery tickets and would I take $100,000 to which I said no, but for $1 million, even though it isn't even close to a fair deal, I think I would take it. $100,000 is nice but that won't even buy you a house in most places, but $1 million in one lump sum would be life changing.

Oh and by the way, I have Iowa St. losing in the first round. Sorry kitty.

There are going to be so many upsets this year. I think they did a terrible job seeding teams. There was even some story on Yahoo Sports today about the seeding.
