I'm Trying to Start More Sketches

Anyone want to have a gander when I'm done? I don't know what I'm doing exactly, but I am giving it another shot. I'm probably just gonna stick to basics. Maybe ears and hair, probably nothing more if I can manage that.

I can't teach you much but maybe you learn a bit from observing what I do. That's how I got started with this really. I'm almost done with a sketch of my mane and ears: I just need to do some shading(?) and color.
