I don't know if this helps, but coloring with the "Crayon" brush has natural blending ability, without using the extra tools. I use that the most in ARS.

You're welcome! I tend to use the "Hard Wax" Crayon more than the "Soft Wax" one, but both blend pretty decently. If you can vary your pressure with your pen, too...the blending will be lighter and darker as you want it to be. Kinda like if you just lightly brush the pen over the area with a lighter (or darker color) it will gently lighten (or darken).

The blender tool seems to be a pain in the butt to me! I can only use it properly with the Oil Paint brushes.

It's all becoming a headache XD
