question about badges?

Yo guys, well as it stands I'm definitely not prepared to make any, especially for FWA this year. However, I was considering doing them a while back and never found the time for it. I've never done them before either, so I was wondering what is people look for when they get them?
Like do you guys prefer traditional over digital?
Do you like commissioning them during the convention or preorder?
Headshots, torso up, or full body?
Or special themes/styles?
A lot really to go on, and if I plan stuff right I could possibly start doing badges in time for some other conventions, even if I am not able to go. :3
Also! Totally link me to one or two of your favorite badges! Either ones you got or just ones you like in general!
