it's like twitter for pictures. occasionally someone actually writes a blog but for the most part its all about reblogging and liking and just posting single pics/vids with maybe a line of text (again, like twitter).

that's what I don't like about it. It's basically twitter, so why not just use twitter. People don't use it for engaging content, it's just a reblog the pic fest and getting to see how many people can like the stuff you found elsewhere on the net, that's not that interesting and I have no reason to see how many times stuff I posted get reblogged or liked or how many 'that's hot' or 'so true' or other throwaway comments I can get on something that may not even have been generated by me.

true, but i think the age of 'intellectual property' has long passed. we just want to seem cool, not actually make cool stuff.

I hate how even if I ignore someone on tumblr if someone I follow reblogs theirs stuff I see it. It's so annoying

Most of the gripes I've had with it in the past are solved by using an RSS reader.

I rarely go on Tumblr, but all the times I do, it's mostly full of social justice warriors that believe they're above everyone and make drama over the simplest of things.

I hate that other people get asked actual questions that they can answer, where the only stuff that lands in my inbox are things like "do u draw?"

I hate it when people take pictures of people (without that person's knowing) just because they are attractive or something and post them. That' really the only thing that bothers me.

Social Justice Warriors. Tumblrs dedicated to defending murderers. Headmates. And the general absurdity you find on Tumblr in general, like This Is Thin Privilege or the like.

But thankfully Tumblr is great for porn.

I just use it for porn. I'm addicted to collecting pictures of everything, the most I find is porn. I use tumblr as a way to feed my need but also keep me from hoarding, I don't need to have these pictures readily available on my pc so they're stored here. And the fact that I get to share with others who care is a plus. Tumblr is one of the better sites Ive ever used for viewing images.

I guess what I dont like about it is how, just like facebook, whatever medium you're using it on it has a different layout/rules/options. The mobile apps are by far the better ways to use tumblr but, they're all slightly different from one another, i want consistency.

Eh, I don't have a problem with social justice warriors as a whole. It's mainly just the bad bunch. There are actually some SJWs on tumblr that aren't total shit heads.

I guess I do get a little bothered when people post up unsourced art since artists have it hard enough already.

People are horribly oversensitive over things that don't actually matter. People look for things to pick at and complain about.

Lots of hypocrisy towards cis people and white males. "Yeah, equality! But all cis and white male scum should die." Like, hating on cis or white people is a fucking fad and it needs to go away because it's shitty. Yes, fight hate with more hate.

Also, tumblr is horribly in denial when it comes to their flaws as a community.

However, there are still tons of good reasons that keep me on the site. So many amazing people I've met over my time being there, and people really like me for who I am. It's not all bad, but the bad is definitely there.

Your experience of Tumblr is highly dependent on how you utilize it. It's versatile in that manner. If you follow or let people you don't agree with dictate or bother you on how you run your Tumblr, you're going to have a bad time just as any other site, but it can be more pronounced on Tumblr. The number 1 rule is that it's your own Tumblr, so run it like you would like to personally run it.

I don't like Twitter because it can be highly brief or superficial. There's no real substance there... but Tumblr can provide it if you choose. You just have to utilize it and encourage others to do the same. Plus, you can choose to reblog things that you agree with or chuckle at that are more than just simple pics or short descriptions. And it's better than facebook because you don't have your family or old high school peers checking in on you, ugh!

You just gotta find the right crowd, much like finding any friends.

Main thing I don't like about tumblr is the constant repeats of submissions in some blogs. They just keep reblogging something they've blogged before.

I don't use Tumblr, and I don't like it because every experience has had me reading some insane or opinionated blog and just completely dumbfounded that people can be so stupid.

Mostly its the social justice fucktards that make the site unbearable. I do my best to avoid them.

I can't use it on the xbox. For a whole 4 days every week, sometimes longer, every single little post piles up and it takes hours to go through it all.

Stuff you've already seen, reblogged time after time. There should just be a checkbox with "I've seen this twelve times already, leave me alone" or something.
