Girl was talking to me last night while petting me and she told me that my whelpday is coming up.

That's right, April 4th! I had almost totally forgot, what with all the herding, herding, herding and fawning over pictures of my Dizzy-kins. It's hard to remember anything when I look into  dizfoley's dreamy eyes.

Um...where was I?

Oh yeah! My Whelpday!

So she asked me what I wanted for my whelpday. So I looked at her and it didn't take more than a second or two to yip,

"I want my Dizzy-kins!"

She chuckled, ruffled my head fur and told me, "But you already have your Dizzy-kins right here." And she pointed her finger at my heart. "And right here too." She added, taking my Dizzy plush from my doggie bed.

I was starting to feel all melty good and wagging my tail happily at the lovely words.
"But sadly, Dizzy has his responsibilities in Chicago-town, and you have yours on the farm. He's not very good at herding sheep, and you're not allowed to chase cars. I can't take Dizzy out of his world any more than he can take you out of yours." She paused, seeing my ears wilt at her words, put her hand under my chin and lifted my eyes to look into hers. "Your Dizzy-kins wants nothing more than to see you happy, And I know you feel the same way for him. So your shared destiny is to love each other from afar and enjoy the brief moments when you see each other at Herding Trials."

"Unless you're in heat." She thought, but didn't say.

It got my tail a waggin' again cuz I do love my Dizzy-kins, even though we can't be together.

"Then I don't need nuthin' for my whelpday." I told Girl, "I already have everything I need cuz I have you, a warm bed, plenty to eat, a job to do, great friends and  dizfoley too."
