Hello all
I've been hit with an extreme stomach virus. My whole body hurts so much I can't even lift my arms. Nothing makes it more comfortable. If I just swallow a tiny sip of water I vomit it up again. The pain is unbearable.
It's been over 12 hours now and I can't keep a drop of water down. I'm getting very dehydrated. I called emergency out of hours doctor because I feel like I'm dying. They told me because I'm contagious they'd prefer me not to go to hospital and that I should call my doctor when they open in the morning. I survived the night but it's extremely bad. My whole body is drying up and cramping. I called the doctor's office finally and they were very unhelpful. I'm getting a call from a doctor in an hour and a half. That feels like an absolute eternity. I'm so sick. If they can't help me fast I'm going to have to call an ambulance and go to hospital. At this point I wish I'd done that in the first place rather than waiting.
So for now I'm just waiting and being sick and typing stuff on my phone. I feel so sick. I'm getting very worried. I don't know what to do. Attempting to keep sipping water and coconut water, but I can't keep anything down.
Oh godddddd this is so bad. I'm just trying to pass the time. I'm so sick. I can't do this for much longer.

Either way, I hope you get out of it healthy.
If you DO decide to go to the hospital DON'T call an ambulance. See if you can get a friend to take you or something (I recently finished paying off a $500 ambulance bill for a 9 mile ride; might be different in other places).
I know it might not be too much help, but try seeing if you can suck on a peppermint hard candy as that usually helps settle a stomach. If not that, then get alka-seltzer or sprite. I hope you feel better. Having a stomach bug is no fun.

If it helps at all to know, if you have a stomach bug, most of them pass in 24 hours. If you have food poisoning though, it could be longer, but that isn't contagious.
My mom was recently in for severe dehydration. They actually told us we should have called earlier because it can be dangerous.
