I was born in the year 1812 during the war, my mother was a nurse and my father a soldier, a grunt they called him so. I saw him very little, I did, but loved him very much so. that is, until our home mysteriously burned down, taking the lives of both my mother and my father, it was at that point that I had decided I was old enough to be a man at the ripe age of 12, from there I moved cali-way in hopes of finding decent work as a miner, it was somewhere between there and Colorado where I met my soon-to-be wife, mildred, whom Ive birthed 5 children with, 2 of which survived. the other 3 were unworthy of cali-way. my journey has brought me much pleasure, as it has brought me pain, but I did not quit on my journey to cali-way, for that wasnt the California way.
