Could be just that it was a brand new thing and finding a few others that had similar likes and interests (maybe for the first time if you were normally a loner or an outcast) and it felt great, and later on when you met more it wasnt such a new thing now finding yourself in a crowd of ppl with similar interests doesnt seem so close and personal.

With me it was kinda similar, I have good memories of my first group of fur friends, all online, and years later I met furs irl and maybe from like 10 or so that I met I befriended about 1-2 of em, but its ok =3 you still keep making new friends ^_^ trust me

I never really was like a loner, I was just weird. But luckily there were lots of other weird kids since I grew up in a pretty urban environment.

But I see what you mean. I've noticed I'm nice and kind to all the furs I have met (unless they're total douches) But I don't really like a lot of them? I dunno if thats sorta fucked up.

But you're right I do make more friends, I'm probably just reminiscing on when it was new.

Yeah just dont dwell too much on it X3 if you keep making new friends then thats a good thing =3 even if you dont like a lot of the new ones it doesnt matter much

People are selfish and most furries are just white trash stoners these days. The whole of the internet was better (despite the fur-bashing) back in the 90s, before all of this bullshit corporate commercialism. Once the muggles arrived, along with Google and social networking, everything went to shit. The people who bashed nerds were stealing the nerds' sanctuary. Instead of accepting the ideas that existed here to begin with, they packed up and brought all their ignorant superstitions and self-destructive behavior with them. Now furries are a bunch of profit-seeking Ferengi. They only want to get money for doing what they do in their spare time. They've turned an interesting hobby into an elitist industry. Born-again capitalists. All the fun's been sapped out of it.

You're growing older, we're all growing older and it's just what happens I guess. People tend to forget how to make connections with one another and the rifts between generations widen.

Just all an experience really.
