Well What do you want from me?!?

Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us. But if we are to be prepared for it, we must first shed our fear of it. I stand here, before you now, truthfully unafraid. Why? Because I believe something you do not? No, I stand here without fear because I remember. I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me but because of the path that lies behind me. I remember that for 100 years we have fought these machines. I remember that for 100 years they have sent their armies to destroy us, and after a century of war I remember that which matters most... We are still here! Today, let us send a message to that army. TOnight, let us shake this cave. Tonight, let us tremble these halls of earth, steel, and stone, let us be heard from red core to black sky. Tonight, let us make them remember, THIS IS ZION AND WE ARE NOT AFRAID!
I have an account on DeviantArt, and, up until now, I had good reviews on my fanfictions. NO ONE complained about creatures being in a world like ours. That is, until, someone got on there and be littled a new fanfiction I wrote. I CANNOT write human parts, and I was told to pretty much stop creating species and what not because "They do not belong in this universe." This person then proceeded to say that they belonged (which I can understand) in a Lord Of The Rings type of universe, but not in something, such as Resident Evil, or The Dark Knight universe because they were fantasy. But, as far as Bat man is concerned, what about the aliens, or some of the people he fights. Resident Evil has viruses, so what is the diffrence?I mean, seriously! But because I put in a dragon-like creature, it does not belong! Here is what he wrote:
Gah...I don't mean to sound harsh here. And I'm all for you involving yourself in the Dark Knight fandom...
But PLEASE...please...make your OC's human! Dragon esque or whatever you make them...it just doesn't BELONG in a thing like this. Perhaps Lord of the Rings, but not something like Batman where you would never see such a thing.
The same goes for Resident Evil, although it is a tad more flexible then the Batman universe is.
Why can't you just make them human? It would make it far more interesting and believable.
Otherwise it's an alright idea...just lose the fantasy crap. It doesn't belong in this genre at all.
I mean...if you want to post it up and have us read it...then you have to make it believable. But if you're just doing it for your own joy of writing a scenario or whatever, keep it off here if you can't keep it in line with the whole plot and genre.
I don't write this to be harsh...it's just that not many people can see some dragon human in allegiance with the Joker of all people. It's just not possible.

I don't quite understand, because, if it doesn't belong, then why does DC Comics add aliens and what not. Look at what's in the Justice League! You have a martian, and a person from Krypton, and this was the first chapter, so why am I being judged now?!? Sometimes people do not wait to see what is going to happen, nor do they even bother to wait for anything to clear up! So, then, why do I even bother going for an English major or even bother writing if all I get is yelled at and told that it is Gary-sue or shit like that? I give up. I fuckin give up on it all. I really do. half of me wants to just stick it through, continue the story, but another half-the half I am going to follow- says that I should just give up and fuckin quit...
I don't even know why I bother anymore.

No. HE can't see a dragon human in allegiance with the Joker, because he's too stuck up in himself. When it comes to writing, nothing is impossible.

Sorry if I'm ranting a little, but this kind of makes me angered. I HATE comments like these. First off, he has no right to tell you weather or not you can or can't post anything. Second, 'make it believable'? What kind of world is this person living it? A story doesn't have to be believable because I'll tell you now, many great stories were not 'believable'. For instance, Redwall is a decent book, but come on... by all means, that's the biggest load I've ever heard. Hehe, a mouse going and defeating rats and snakes and on and on. Heh, but none the less, it was a good story. The plot behind it was great and it was rather enjoyable. It doesn't have to be 'believable', the person reading it must have an open mind and be able to believe! Unfortunately, Mr. Critique here doesn't have that open of a mind.
As for his rather harsh comments which he tried to cover up with "I don't write this to be harsh...", If you want to post up these types of comments and have anyone read them, then show a bit more kindness and don't be so over critical and judgmental. Not every story goes the way you want it or feel it should go. But if your just writing these comments for your own joy or to look big and important or whatever, don't post it.
I'm sorry for my rant or what not but... your very talented. I don't want to see you discouraged, hun. Hope you keep writing and happy holidays! n.n
