From what I understand Win 7 is WAY more "normal" than Win 8. I don't think I would like it either. I have Vista and it's supported for a while longer. XP is going to fade away, sadly.

I'm going to have to upgrade one of these days and it'll probably be with Win 7. So keep us informed on how it works with your art and your tablet. I have a really, REALLY old tablet and I'm afraid it won't be supported at all. :(

But about XP, I could kill the guys at Microsoft for that, XP was perfect, I used it 11 years! And now it will be gone? It feels like a family member is dying...Win7 just isn't right...it feels so weird for me.

vista was the MOTHER of all my BSODs and horrible cardiac arrests every moment it happen...the blue screens...ITS TOO BLUE Q-Q! *corner*

Vista is much like XP and it's been flawless for me. I've heard the of the "nightmares" of Vista...but it's served me well and been very stable. I think Vista got a bad rap for some reason and I don't know why. I have a Wacom Intuos tablet with an old-style 9 pin serial connection. Yay! X)

Okay that IS old, but after a while i had found on the official wacom site the right driver (there are some Win7 Drivers) maybe it helps you too in the future^^

Windows 7 is very similar in terms of style to Vista it's just drastically improved over memory usage and performance. Vista uses a little too much RAM for one thing. If you like Vista I don't see a reason why you wouldn't like Windows 7.

As for 8 I've not really used it much myself but I can understand what Microsoft are up to with it which is something similar to what Apple are up to. That is, making their Desktop OS have a conforming style to their mobile one. This then allows the user to integrate both their iOS and Mac OS or Windows and Windows Phone in to one experience where everything is familiar. Who knows this may catch on, especially in the younger generations who are only just picking up the technology now.

Well but i dont have a Smartphone. Still having my first mobile phone a Nokia 3510i

My first phone was the older 5510 I think it was :P

But yeah it's not necessarily targeted towards you but probably more the general consumer, or those who are just starting to get into mobiles, and tablets.

well, at least it still works, I doubt it will work on w8, I worked on winvista, I didn't had issues with it but when I updated to win7 it was quite faster (same pc) and... as for win8... I can't say I like or hate it, it looks nice, but I don't find it particularly good, better or whatever, guess I'll stick win w7 a little longer, I hope they make win8 more comfortable to use without touchscreen

It runs well for me. I don't have any problems with it.

Well the OS itself runs well, but my bamboo is a bit strange, the default driver I have don't work right, i had to download that "Bamboo Dock"-thingy. If I use that it runs under Win7 also Photoshop Elements 7 - if im starting it from there - if i start it normally it doesn't.
