I think you shouldn't worry about what other people think as much. I think it would be better for you to draw art because it makes you happy, not to try to please other people. That way you're not as dependent upon other people's thoughts.


I mean, I don't draw any art at all myself, but I still love it on FA. For me it's more about the community and just having fun.

It's not about the art so much as it is who you are. :) I think you're a great guy and I've always enjoyed talking to you. And what Digitz said up there is very very true. The point of art should never be to impress somebody else. The point of art is to express yourself and who you are in a way that makes you happy. Even art done for other people should be done because it's something that you enjoy doing. *hugs* just keep being who you are.

Yeah, I think Brock is a great example. Brock does art all of the time, and a lot of it is just personal art that he does for himself. Unlike a lot of artists, I've never heard Brock say "I don't get as many commissions as I'd like".

Now, I'm not judging other people...I know that a lot of artists are struggling money-wise and they're trying to get as much from art as they can to get by. But my point is that Brock never seems to be unhappy in terms of art because he's just doing it to make himself happy.


And I think the more you do it the more you improve, too.



And in terms of general confidence, I've had confidence issues all of my life too. One thing that helps, though, is understanding that it comes from inside of you. If you let what other people think affect your confidence, you'll never be confident, because you can't control what other people think or what other people do. It's impossible to please everyone. You have to find your strengths and the good things about you and focus on that. You can't try to be perfect. The more you focus on the positives and care less about what others think, the more you'll realize all of the great things about yourself and it makes you a lot happier.
