-Commission prices (Revising soon)- http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2745595/
Have you ever wanted someone's art for a while, finally had the chance and money for it?
Then when you watch them stream it using your time as much as possible to see it progresses, and it came out very nicely. Then when they cannot finish it, you noted them after if its ok for them to do slight detail fixes on the characters if the image gets done, because you had many issues in the past of artists making the same wrong mistakes.
THEN they replied they cannot do any fixes, THEREFORE, they refunded you with no warning. I thought to myself, thats fucking disappointing. I was looking forward getting an art piece from this artists, yet they refunded when they're halfway finished, JUST BECAUSE they dont want to do tiny fixes on a character's details IF they made a mistake.
*sighs out* i dunno anymore. Whenever i do my YCHs back then to winners i made sure every single details are correct on the character.
Guess they're too lazy to do any fixes or even bother to do close looks to the refs anymore...
I wasted my time watching a beautiful commission coming out, then ask a small request to do slight detail fixes if it appears, THEN got refunded.....
Wonderful...

Alot of artists made the same mistakes even though i gave the ref out and its pretty fustrating. I paid them to do a decent job. So now i add "REMINDERS" in my notes. It helped but still one or two mistakes still slipped through.
You cannot help on the artists side, but for your side, take the extra measure to point out the major details on your characters when you send them refs
and just simply nothing gets changed or edited.
But no one has simply cancelled and refunded just by asking for a minor change.
I can see if someone is asking for 10+ changes, is a bit ridiculous.
But some minor ones like correct coloring, markings.. Is a bit absurd to cancel it over something like that. =/
But normally my request is simply ignored..
Since I have just given up for asking for changes in the eye color - since my reference must not have looked at all too closely.. clearly shows yellow eyes and not blue! And markings are like this and not like this.
To be honest, it makes a commissioner feel like a money sign..
I have since slowed down on commissions due to this and have just been going with what appear to be trusted artists.
But some are not so!
Sorry you ran in to such trouble!
that's me. I might be slow delivering art but I'm strict with satisfaction :3
I mean... never happened to me... just damn weird the artist would give up like that
Miss ya Tiggy.
Like for example one of my characters does NOT have ears, only horns, and almost everyone to date has drawn her with small cat ears or something like that, and as much I enjoy the "extra effort" they put in to draw/color/shade the ears, I don't want them there, and when they put the ears they skip an important detail like her bracelets or collar :c
I would rather have drawn the image myself, when I see how much people ignore my ref, possibly only looking at it once or twice...
But as a semi artist myself, I do all my art for free, and hope that people tell me where I messed up, so I can learn from my mistakes, heck once I even redid an entire picture pose and all just to make sure I didn't make the same mistakes I did on the original.
So sorry you had someone who would rather refund you than to fix some small mistakes they made :c
she was having a drunk stream the night you came in, she did not want to do commission art but decided to take yors anyway AND AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE.
Yiu wanted too much from her, especialy in the state she was in and when you were being rude in the chat and noting her so much detail she did not think it was worth it.
It was $20 and you were asjking for far too much and then are posting a journal about it to make your self look like a victum.
You will probably hide this post cause you don't want people to know the truth, I have lost all respect for you because of the way you acted and am now gonna unwatch you.
I cant express enough how angry I am at this journal and the way you acted, I hope you will be more mindful when people tell you things in the future.
That is all I have to say, sorry if it is hard to read I cant see barly much but had to get this off my chest, take care.
As an artists myself who did few commissions and YCHs in the past, they paid me so they trust me to do the job right, and thats what i intend to do, and to make sure their characters are just as they're shown in the ref, ears body type and everything i can. You pay someone to do the job right, and the artist should think that way as well especially on the character details. If it was a free gift, then yes that'll slide, but its a PAID commission, so it needs to be done right in order to have your commissioners full satisfaction and even return for more. An artists should draw how the character is represented in the ref, not making shortcuts where they'll look even more different just to be strictly in your comfort zone.
I dont think i was being mean and forceful either, just reminder her of the main details. You too should know how important doing the character details right, since you do commissions yourself. You complained to me once when i did a detail that wasnt right for you and a friends character, so therefore i changed it and respected it and it was a gift. There have been times you drew
I'm afraid i'll have to unwatch you myself as well because you're not the artist as i respected back then. you've became way more defensive, especially for female artists/members, and at same time feeling that its biased and not looking at the bigger picture of how commissioned artists should perform.
I will not hold negative thoughts toward you, but i'll feel disappointed that you feel like that towards me, because now i know how you are after these few years. For now, i hope your diabetes will lighten up to make you feel better.
$20 for 2 character sketch, and she was inking the image as well.
You can play the victum all you want, but you are wrong, the more artists you upset the less likly peple will want to draw your characters, I stopped wanting to draw for you a long time ago but still did cause I thought of you as a friend.
This is the last I am gonna speak of this, you and your girlfriend will probably never understand and probably continue to do what you do, i just hope for your sake it does not come back at you in the end.
That is it for me, I am too sick to care anymore, both of you take care and try to keep in mind what Ihave said.
Its still a payment, unless she stated in their TOS that they're allowed to make non original alterations on people's characters and will cancel if asked to be fixed specifically to the ref's version.
We may not understand completely but we think of the bigger picture how commission artists should behave professionally, because we both are willing to fix the drawings ourselves to the best of our abilities to satisfy the commissioners/YCH winners who trusted us.
