You know what grinds my gears?
When someone blocks you and doesn't have the balls to at LEAST send you a note or message or whatnot and let you know WHY you are being blocked.
Love an artist, been a fan for a long time, go to comment on one of their journals, and BAM.. on block list. And you don't know why since you never actually talked to said person(or remember you've ever talked to them if you did). I've actually run across a couple of these over the past 3 or so years.
You then send a message via other routes and VERY politely ask and get IGNORED. To me, that's rude. Especially if the person is super respectful and nice and honestly has NO CLUE as to why they have been blocked.
Just makes me lose respect for them. I've done bad things in the past, said things I wasn't proud of, etc. The past ..3 or so years now, I've turned a new leaf in my life. New relationship, new life, new state, new friends, new job, etc. I've apologized many times to everyone over the past few years, especially those I've hurt.
But like I said, when I don't personally know you, I've never talked to you like EVER, nor really talk to anyone in their friends circle, then how could I have done something to have ever upset or bother them enough to block me?
The least someone could do when one reaches out with questions, is to answer them. Then if you so wish to continue to have them on you block list, at least the person knows why. If you wish to be rude, block them on other places, ignore them, etc.
I now understand why some people end up on the DO-NOT-COMMISSION list or posted up on Artists Beware. I could never understand why some people are on these lists.. until now. I see what some people saw about certain people IS in fact true. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, IDIOTS who think they are better than everyone else deserves all the bad rap they get then.

I think FA should have a thing where if you block someone, you have to put in WHY they were blocked so if for some reason that message was to come up for them - it gave them a reason.

It's generally why I'm a big fan of giving people second chances as well as keeping in mind nobody's perfect.
Get both sides of the story from their SOURCES not from rumors and 3rd party members. Then make your decision. It's not fair to those wrongly accused and cannot defend themselves.
And it's just like you said, people get emotionally charged and then just lose any sense of logical reasoning and refuse to do anything to verify the rumors, instead just spreading the hate and rumors further. Once they're at that point, even when someone tries to stop and say "whoa, hey, can we verify this is true?" That person is berated and accused of being a white knight. People can be super disgusting.
I'm willing to guess KTB was featured on someone's shit list for some reason, valid or not, that person posted some kind of blog about it and the artist just blocked you to avoid contact. Because everything you read on the internet is true.
I agree, and I feel this might be the case. As I said before. My logic is "if you are nice to me, I'm nice to you." and "Every story, like a pancake, no matter how flat - has two sides." Instead of passing judgment, how about you go to the source and find out the truth yourself? They could be flat out bold lies with little truth to them.
"Treat someone as you would like to be treated." If you want me to judge you from your past, I can. I prefer not as people continue to change throughout the course of their years. A 25yr old doesn't continue to act like they were when they were 16yrs old. Give a person a chance to show they have grown, matured, and moved on.

That being said, I do feel that many people on here have a legitimate psychological problem called Borderline Personality Disorder. That makes it kind of a grey area because they're basically hardwired to form immediate, very polarized opinions of people based on whatever info they hear first. Those that know they have it should probably practice some restraint, but I think there's a -lot- of people on here that have it and don't even know just judging by how they act. But how many have BPD vs. how many are just ignorant assholes? Or how many are just pleased as punch to berate someone else so they can make themselves feel like they're part of a group and better than someone else?
So it's really hard to say people are just being idiots here. I mean, I'm sure some are, but maybe most of them really can't help it? Same goes for blocking someone without giving them a chance...
Still dunno what prompted it, oh well.
I spoke to a friend and they said it was a good thing I blocked them because this person is crazy and would have come back down the line to insult me just like they did to my friend. That person enjoys telling people how they don't live up to their stupid standards so will not block you if they dislike you.
It's common decency and courtesy to at least give someone the respect to answer them when they are showing you the same in return.
The only reason it bugs me is that a few people make really emotionally charged comments on something and it gets a ton of people riled up, so before you know it a mob is bashing this person we don't know that much about. *shrugs*
i wish people had the balls to at least tell you why they are gonna block you and discuss it with you before they just block you

Again. sometimes it's easier to just, pre-emptively prevent interactions with people. Sucks, but yeah xD

In your particular case, I'm neither condoning nor condemning the practice, as I can't remember any of the SPECIFIC bouts of drama involving you (I read/see a LOT of stuff pertaining to fandom drama, and most of it just sorta jumbles together after awhile, LOL). Just explaining how/why this ACTUALLY happens.
Personally I don't think I've ever blocked anyone on that premise as I'm a bit more forgivign and only recall blocking people who have actively made comments upon my corner of FA that I felt were completely unwarranted.

As I told Drayk further up, there are VERY specific offenses that, if I see them (regardless of whether it's directed to me personally or not), that person is going STRAIGHT onto my block list. Period. No questions asked. I'm pretty damn tolerant of a LOTTA stuff, but there are certain absolutes that I don't yield on. THAT'S the stuff that gets people blocked, for me. But if that individual seeks genuine forgiveness for those evils and does a complete 180, I unblock and that's the end of it. Pretty simple philosophy for me, too, LOL.
Sometimes I see his art and get a bit annoyed, but it's no big deal in the end, is it? It's just another person on the internet, who happens to draw. Sure, so long he provides quality porn people will love and adore them, but they are shallow and even cowards, incapable of standing their ground and support their ideas or even themselves.

Generally because I end up posting to journals I disagree with, I get blocked for making concise, well thought out comments that go against them. Especially for those journals that ask about my opinion. I don't get mad, I just find it pathetic. This often results in that person's friends blocking me too.
And I don't want to know; I found your character one day and was like "Huh, this is relevant to my interests +watch".
From what I've seen, you're pretty okay.
Sadly, people seem to forget that there are humans behind these keyboards with their own thoughts, lives, and feelings.
And that's why I can't ... really bring my self to silently block someone with out at least telling them what's going on.
(unless it's an obvious spam bot).
They might be obsessive, have some kind of medically valid disorder, or mental illness.
It's not helping them grow. Yeah, some people with disorders just use it as an excuse. But I've found the vast majority actually -do- want to know what they've done wrong, so they can avoid doing that again. Or at least better understand the world they're living in. Trying to fix problems, even if it's 1% at a time, earns a lot of respect in my book.

Just reminded me of my own opinions, and since it's topical I thought I'd share my views.
I have been involved with drama in the past, most furries have to some degree as it's the fur fandom and one comment can explode and ruin your reputation. But most ALL drama that I've been involved in was 5+ years ago. So why am I still blocked for crap I did that long ago? Do I still do that stuff? No.. so why haven't I been given a clean slate? At least I deserve a chance to show I've changed in the past 5yrs. If I mess up, sure add me again on that block list. =/ But until then, stop playing God and give someone a chance, they are only human. I mean, I'm sure if I dig into ANYONE's past here in the fandom I'm sure I can find some dilemma or drama they were involved in. From artists tracing to a hiccup in judgment when angered and a comment came out without thinking. Things happen. We are only human and we deserve second chances and new beginnings.
I saw an adopt I wanted, I checked out the user and went to watch them before buying to find I was blocked. I dont think ive ever seen that person online ever before so its pretty sad to see they have blocked me and not know why. Even more sad no-one got the adopt. Its just sitting there :C
I just don't get much involved emotionally or socially over here anymore. :E Meh.
