Wonder what a Japanese Sonic branch would be like?

By now if you are a Sonic fan at all. You likely have heard of the new SonicBoom branch and how it's made to be targeted for western groups only, Game & TV-show won't even be sold in japan.
But that's the thing. The main Sonic branch is mostly enjoyed by western fans too and even tho it's also sold in japan, It's not very popular in japan at all... far less then it is in the western market anyways. Which is kinda sad since Sonic is made by a Japanese company.
So that brings up a question from me. What type of Sonic series concept made into it's own shoot-off branch would sell better in japan even if it wouldn't be as well liked over in the western market? ... A japan targeted Sonic branch... Really makes me curious what it'd be like and all the character designs, ETC. I often like a lot of stuff from japan, Example I watch a lot of anime, Only in Japanese with subtitles too just to say. So I could see myself enjoying such a Sonic series perhaps, unless they turned it into something really... really bad. But yeah, I wonder how they would do it? 1 thing that comes to mind is that they may have to turn it into a teen targeted series... since If I remember right, kid anime isn't super popular there lately. But I'm not exactly sure. *mew

It'd probably have a lead human character who gets sucked into a portal and is dropped off into the world of Sonic, a sort of... not-Mobius setting. Everything about it avoids referencing the US lore, any random "Mobians" would have no relation to SatAM or Archie. The plot would be about how Sonic and his friends need to collect the Chaos Emeralds (or some similar collectible) to power a portal that can take the kid back home. Stretch that out into 30 or so episodes and you've got an anime!
Also I could imagine a anime/game being far more ecchi then the normal series since japan is more into it over there atm. *mew
Sonic Adventure left a huge impact on Japan, it was literally every where and even had it's own clothing line in the SEGA Stores. I think Sonic fails to meet ends in Japan because it's a western focused series these days, literally everything made after Sonic Heroes and Riders was catered for the western fans, except when they tried to reel Japan back in with Sonic Unleashed/World Adventure.
I guess the market has just moved with the times, Japan is very much into mobile gaming, RPG's and MMORPG's, because not even triple A Mario titles barely make their name there any more.
And I'm not only talking about games, Just because japan has mostly moved onto mobile gaming doesn't say much about if they'd enjoy it as a new TV-show or not. Also them being into mobile games would just mean that if they wanted a Sonic game targeted toward them then they'd make the japan branch mainly mobile games and or a RPG series for PS4 or something.
Anyways i'm not really interested in how well past games did or not with japan. I'm more curious how they could make a japan Sonic branch that'd be really popular over there now. *mew
