Well
and I went suiting to another game. We found out the team and fans really, really like us at the game. Enough they demanded us come back for the playoffs vs the Ducks. (SHUDDAP DUINO)
So we're going to go running around being dorks, and if lucky maybe be an orange and grey blurry dot scrolling through the upper stands on tv heh! XD
Thinking it will be a blast again, though still trying to figure out why the scalpers all try to sell us tickets IN COSTUME..... I don't get it! Hope to have fun and all that!
Though to any locals who might show, we get mobbed bad so don't be upset if we can't say much more than hi or seem a bit aloof! It is fun to know others are there, but even after the game we get asked for about 50+ photos hehe. Also hating to say, don't be creepy and talk about your furry art and how much you want to wear your sexy suit or such in public. Security did note the one doing this. They were NOT amused by such. Going "Furries!" or silly crap is totally normal. We get it happening by many college kids and is all in good fun. Not trying to be a downer, but we had an incident last time.
Just to do this we had to be checked, photographed with head off, work with staffing, go through alternate entrances far in advance, etc. and it is difficult as fursuiting is allowing people with facial covers /limited visibility in an energetic sports stadium that will be swarmed by drunks. Unless you're willing to go through the steps be prepared to be turned away. Again not meaning to be disheartening, just be prepared and overly cooperative along with following professional guidelines (no touchy, no drunky, head stays on, be able to hold it in because suits in a bathroom used by inebriated folks will get gross, kids may pull tails and scream, etc) So good luck to any of you who want to try going in suit to things as well! It can be a totally amazing time :3

Aside from that amazed they let you do that, but then the Stars have been kind of in the weeds the last few years and the luster of that Cup run certainly wore off a while ago so it's probably not such a bad thing for them. Beats the hell out of "green men" in Vancouver eh?
We haven't made it in five years, then out of the blue, BAM, we have a fairly good team again. Thankfully it can only get better so the next couple years unless Lehtonen or Benn get injured, we'll make playoffs consistently.
Anything but the green men. Er, anything but the Avs mascot, then the green men.
And as much as I hate the Stars... or at least did when they were annoying the Sharks on an annual basis... I got a signed Modano picture on the wall cause he's the best 'Merican! to play the game so far. :)
The support of fans was completely flooring. I can't thank the AAC and Dallas Stars enough for being accommodating and letting us do that…. AND wanting us back. It's touching when management tells you that people ask for the fox and mouse during games now.
Vermy is completely right here, though. You have to go in as a professional. Make arrangements ahead of time, notify security that you are coming, know what the procedures are for costuming at a game, and follow the BASIC mascot rules… keep your head on, don't be creepy or touchy-feely, know your limits with heat and dehydration, and dress as comfortable as possible (which means most likely leaving the full suit at home), and stay aware of the situation around you at all times. Have your credentials in easy access, and ALWAYS comply with security and ushers. Go in as a pro and like you know your stuff, and you'll most likely have a very good time.
Also, if you see people in fursuit, take their picture, shake their paw, but don't cling to them, as there are normally a line of people waiting to have their moment with the suiter as well.
Bottom line, we fursuited in front of tens of thousands of people, and they all loved us for it.
And yes, professionalism and basic mascot rules. I gotta ask if you guys spoke in suit; I found sometimes it's easier to deal with crowds, and less creepy, by speaking in suit - at least that's what I found when I'd done Tonic at AC and the hotel bar at Califur while the big rock show shared the hotel.
Definitely talking makes it less awkward. Also makes it more fun when the guy dressed as an animal heckles the team in a cartoony voice. Also, gotta get chants started somehow! ;)
That being said, I hope you'll have a blast! :D
Also hoping the Jets will let ya in suit if you try. Mick E Moose has been kinda lame looking...
(Also Pens Im okay with winning. Anyone over there but Boston!)
And you have no idea how jealous I am of you guys...(my) Acme would have loved to have been there..and all the fans could make fun of him xD
All of this sounds very reasonable and you hit the nail on the head. To be able to suit in any establishments, you are to act as a professional mascot since you're not only representing yourselves, but also the establishment. They are doing fursuits a favor and I'm sure everyone always want to be invited back.
Hopefully next time we go fursuit ice skating, you can make it. =^.^=
And as far as tickets.... It could be entirely possible Stars staff got us lower level playoff tickets... *innocent whistle*
That's awesome about the Stars doing that for you both! I'm glad that the franchise supports mascots. Multiple games or 1?
We'd welcome the idea of more there and talked to a few who are interested in hitting up games next season if they continue to allow us, though getting in and out of the convention center is a bit rough due to hoops to jump and all the pics! Oh and seating (ears block views unless in really specific spots hehehe)
I've dealt with lots of kids and adults hounding for pictures, hugs, etc. when at a parade, ice skating, on cruises, a friend of a friends kids birthday party, and more, so I'm used to that, hehe. I'm only 5'6", so ears aren't too bad for me if a normal sized adult is behind me. ;) If allowed, I'd love to attend games next season. I am a Wings fan first, but a Stars fan also. I haven't followed as much hockey as I'd like to the last few seasons. D:
Will be cool to see at a hockey game, I guess it makes a difference watching the sport than being the puck. =p
BTW do they think that you are just mascots?
Thoughts?

Mainly it boils down to being up front and putting out there you understand it is not too common so you want to work with them. I think a majority of places will allow it if approached in such a manner and a decent looking suit shows up.
Safetywise, you're going to be on your own unless you bring a spotter. Security often has specified duties they are required by the rink and team, so taking one away from a post for a single fan isn't going to happen and asking such will likely raise concern of why you're trying to move them around. Bring spotters or friends is really all I can say. You will be tugged on, possibly beered upon, and called all sorts of names good and bad. Also expect a bajillion photos so from the inside door to seats and vice versa is a 30-45 minute walk.
Hopefully it'll work out, though since the Bruins do have a mascot, that may make it a little harder. :(
*rolls all over you with wolf stank*

It doesn't hurt that both your suits are really well made and cute. That kind of thing wouldn't work with a suit that was average or sub par looking..
You two are total geniuses!
