What a weekend - convention staff, birthday, and stuff

Hi, all. As those of you who have me on instant messengers may have noticed, I wasn't really around this past weekend. (Except in Skype's case, when I was around all the time; also very unusual for me.)
Well, there was a very good reason for that: you see, I was out of town at BABScon, specifically working as the convention store lead. Yup, spent both my birthday and Easter selling goods to men who play with cartoon horses. Though I did get wished a happy birthday by the VA for Spike, Cathy Weseluck; she's quite nice, she is! Knowledgeable sociologist, too.
Also of nice note: being on staff got me into Staff Feed, which was excellent! Can't remember the last time I had a bowl of non-flake cereal, that was pretty great. All the veggies, chips, french dip, meatballs, and spaghetti I could handle, quite good. And since it was all free, my food budget was...well, practically nonexistent. :D
So yeah, great time there overall; I look forward to participating in it again somehow next year.
That said, when I got back and thought about my birthday, I got to thinking, looking back on the last few years. my friends have all done so much for me...but how much have I done for them? I mean, even when I was still drawing, I didn't do much in the way of stuff for others. I feel bad for that.
I've slowly been building up my art skills again, though I'm not quite to the point that I can create right and proper. But when I do get to that point, I'd love to repay those who have shown me such kindness over the years.
So, I guess what I'm really trying to say here is, thank you all for sticking with the weirdo that is me. I only hope I'll continue to be worth your while for a long time to come. :)
