Taking time off will be really difficult after I get settled, sadly. I'll just have to see how the cards play out!

It's difficult for you to get time off NOW. You must long since have exceeded the 60 day max for saved leave. It seems unconscionable for a military in peacetime to expect officers to spend leave and then come to work anyway, which is (or was) your situation.

Do More With Less, I assume you remember that one ;) The last position I was in was supposed to be a 15 man crew; we had 3 people. Most of us have 3-5 primary jobs now, and a host of additional duties.

Taking leave isn't THAT hard, but it's very time-dependent. Some times of year it's easier for me than others.
