The full Godzilla Animated Series DVD

Godzilla (aka Zilla) was the subject my first giant monster love affair, his lithe and sexy design got to me more than the "traditional" Godzilla. Not to mention the fact that his particularly attractive feet were featured rather frequently in the film.
Unfortunately the movie famously sucked, nailing down the coffin lid for any possible big screen sequels. Zilla lived on for a few seasons in a cartoon series that many macrophiles are probably familiar with, but after the show was canceled, there was never a full DVD release of all of the episodes. Only 9 of them actually made it onto DVD to my knowledge. So most of the show was lost to memory...

I assume they are hoping to make a little bank from the renewed interest in Godzilla, thanks to the upcoming movie. All fine by me, I'll be happy to finally have the whole series to watch again, and add to my probably-too-large collection of monster stuff. Apparently there are 2 unreleased episodes included, we can assume they didn't make it past the censors because of all the crushing and carnage.
Also, cant we ever get a Godzilla or Kaiju category in the search filters? Why can I filter for "Tanuki" or freaking "Chocobo" but not "Kaiju"?

At least now I can finally get rid of all those old VHS tapes that I had originally recorded the show on during those Saturday mornings; and now get to watch it in good quality, without commercials. :D
It's nice to see this series, an unfortunate victim of the Pokemon vs. Digimon war, finally see a DVD release along with the unreleased episodes.
To answer you question, I don't think we have a Godzilla category because they don't really do individual characters like Renamon, Krystal, or Sonic. And I think the site admins don't have a kaiju category because they just consider it the same thing as macro.
I suppose it is possible to make the argument that kaiju should be in the species category, but then again most kaijus aren't actually the of the same species (baring the Pacific Rim variety if I remember correctly), which is why they might fit more properly in the fetish category along with digimon and pokemon.
I suppose one would just have to petition for it either way. I am just kind of annoyed at the obvious bias, like they stuck in categories that interest them personally, Isn't it odd that there is a Sonic category, but not an MLP category? Even though the latter is in vastly greater demand.
Thinking of it though... If I wanted to post a picture of Godzilla, and have it get more views, I would post it under macro and not kaiju, since most people are going to search macro, and less will search the more specific Kaiju..
So.. I negated my own argument... awkward.
At least people can tag their artwork as kaiju though, so the search function can help make up for it if you are looking for something more specific than the browse function could help with.
Just out of curiosity, may I ask which kaijus you like to search for?
Some personal favs of mine don't really get much fan art so the lack of a kaiju category does not effect me much. Those would be the rhedosaurus and what the old Fleischer Superman cartoons liked to call a tyrannosaurus (not my favorite looker but he had such a well animated rampage scene).
I'd like to be able to search for him too, and maybe having an actual category would encourage more fan art of classic movie monsters. I would even like to see more done with the Pacific Rim monsters.
It does seem difficult to categorize Godzilla though. He has been so many things over the years: a mutant lizard, a mutant dinosaur, the collective souls of those Japan wronged during WWII, ect... :P

I hope the ones I'm downloading aren't those VHS rips with awful quality. I wanna see Godzilla stomping on vehicles :3
