Congratulations - it's certainly a relief once that's all done.

Do you plan to apply for UK citizenship when it's possible for you to do so? I ask because I haven't yet.

Thanks! Yeah, it really is a huge relief.

I'm honestly not sure about going for full citizenship at this point, so I'm leaving my options open on that one. I certainly love the UK enough to strongly consider it, but I like holding on to my US citizenship too for a few reasons, including having family back there. I feel like the US is in more desperate need of voters with brains and educations, for one thing. ;) I might look into going dual, but how I decide will probably depend on how things develop in terms of the US's tolerance of dual citizenship and how the IRS treats foreign residents on income tax. So it's up in the air, and settlement is enough to content me for now!

*nod* My entire reason at this point for not having gone for citizenship is the expense; dual citizenship isn't a problem from what I understand (so long as you do not actively renounce your US citizenship).

Yeah, definitely makes sense. It's something I need to investigate further; for now though I'm perfectly content just having settlement.
